Enjoy Authentic Flavors With This Healthy Greek-Style Pita Sandwich
Ingredients
1 pound pork cutlet (chop) or lamb
Pita bread (we like BFree)
½ C plain yogurt
2 t dried dillweed
½ t garlic powder
½ t onion powder
½ t salt
½ t pepper
1 Cucumber, sliced thin
1 Tomato, sliced thin
Directions
Preheat oven to 350.
In a small bowl combine the yogurt & dillweed and set aside.
Warm heavy pan on stove, when hot add ghee or fat to the pan. Add meat to pan and sprinkle with ½ of the garlic, onion, & salt. Cook until until no longer pink inside about 4 – 5 minutes per side. When you flip the meat, sprinkle with the garlic, onion, & salt.
Wrap pita’s in foil and warm in oven for 10 minutes.
While the pita’s are in the oven, thinly slice the meat.
Spread some of the yogurt mixture inside the pita, add meat, tomatoes, and cucumber.
