Easy Peasy, Pumpkin Spicy
With all the pumpkins floating around the stores, I thought this would be an easy and cheap snack to make for my family. It was undoubtable a hit, and just had to share.
Recipe:
Preheat oven at 350 degree.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups pumpkin seeds
- 2 tbps melted butter
- 1 tbsp red chili pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 cayenne pepper
Directions:
Scoop out the pumpkin seeds and wash. They don't have to be super clean (keep some of that awesome pumpkin essence there). Put in a bowl and add melted butter. Add the rest of the spices. If you can't handle to much spicy-ness, cut the amounts in half.
(My four year old helped mix it all together, took about 5 seconds. So this recipe is fast to make. Yet, he still needed a break. Go figure!)
Butter a cooking sheet, and spread out the pumpkin seeds evenly. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. Check every few minutes after that to make sure they don't burn. Every oven is different so take that into account.
And Voila! Cheap, easy, delicious Spicy Roasted Pumpkin Seeds.
We hope you enjoy this recipe. Stay tuned for more awesome & simple recipes that are yummy and healthy for you (and Dr. Glidden approved!)
